Darryl L. Smith moons the internet

Today a trollsock spammed the following to two comment threads on reddit. (The first), (The second). Full list of trollsocks since September 2 on reddit. It is likely that the majority of those shown in red are Darryl L. Smith, but not necessarily all. The Smiths commonly claim they are impersonated, which is plausible in a few examples, but quite unlikely with many others.

I’m going over this because the behavior is characteristic and quite identifiable, once one actually looks at history.

This person Waller Joel aka Abd Lomax (previously known as MU and “Ari Silverstein” did an interview with Roberta Grimes a few years ago, he appears to be on a lot of forums with many different alias names. https://lightafterlife.forumotion.com/t840-who-is-waller-joel

No evidence will be shown connecting any of these accounts with Abd Lomax (that’s me!) In fact, the claim is preposterous, contradicted by alleged facts asserted. I am not and have never been a resident of Florida. It’s easy to verify me as resident in Massachusetts, and, for sure, Darryl found all that doxxing, he has named a sock after a street I live on, he points to legal documents I filed, etc. So . . . if this is Darryl, he is straight-out lying. Could this be an impersonation of him? Sure, but understand, I suggest that a successful impersonation requires a pattern to be imitated. What is that pattern and how did it come into being? Looking into what is cited here, if we look carefully, reveals the original. And, Occam’s Razor, while impersonation is not impossible, someone is highly motivated, to create a pattern of behavior over many years. Who is that? It is actually obvious.

The link is to a discussion where a throwaway account, Mike1978 appears to ask “Who is Waller Joel”? Two posts to the forum, 22 Oct 2017, 20:35 and 25 Oct 2017, 02:16. There is more in that forum that would be of interest if anyone wants to know who MU actually is. I’m not. What I know is that Darryl has long had an obsession with MU and commonly uses it in the names of trollsocks.

His latest username on the Skeptiko forum appears to be mat barns, with an agenda to mock physical mediumship. He has used hundreds of fake names such as Andrew B. Chung, Tyler Snotgern, MU!!, Lars, Waller, Frank Camper, Merrick Forrester, abd etc all with the intention of trying to damage the idea of spiritualism or make a mockery of it. All I know is that he is from Florida and in his 70s. I know that this person Waller Joel was also behind the MU trolling and countless impersonations amongst the spiritualist community. He still does this. https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Talk:Andrew_B._Chung/archive1

The reference is to a RatWiki archive, where the account Forests was active in 2013, and that page was started by him.

Let me establish who Darryl is: the brother (allegedly twin) of Oliver D. Smith, who was the original Anglo Pyramidologist account on Wikipedia, see the block log. Darryl commented as the brother of “Anglo” in the first 2011 report, using IP. In the second, he commented as Liveintheforests. [block log]. There are many places where Oliver called Darryl socks his brother, or “family member,” and there is another rare example of Darryl describing the situation (on Encyclopedia Dramatica, I think it’s been archived, but it doesn’t matter). Normally, Darryl is far more guarded. But what he wrote in that SPI case and matches my much later research.

More than one WP admin decided that there were two distinct users, sometimes using the same home IP address. Because both ended up indeffed, all later socks were block evading and were tagged, where identified, under Anglo Pyramidologist. While that made sense from the point of view of block/don’t block, it created confusion and lack of clarity, and the Smiths later fully exploited confusion.

In any case, we know that Oliver D. Smith continued to be active, and is still active on Wikipedia, apparently and recently on Reddit. He was very active on RatWiki for years, though he finally blew enough fuses that he’s banned there.

What about Darryl? Did he continue to be active? Oliver sometimes claims not. Sometimes Oliver has claimed that it was all him, there is no brother (but public records show otherwise) or his brother isn’t active on the internet and claims to the contrary are “conspiracy theory” and “imagination.”  But someone continued with similar interests (which evolved) and other signs, someone who was occasionally whacked as an AP sockpuppet, thus connected with Oliver. Best example is Goblin Face. Goblin Face was active on WP from January to December 2014. When I look at contribution histories I see the movement of activity from one wiki to another, and other interesting phenomena. I conclude that Darryl continued to be active, and is still recently active on RatWiki. And someone is creating all these trollsocks, and I know that, in particular, as an old Darryl Smith pattern, seen well before he used it to attack me.

That page cited by this troll was last edited in 2013. So how is this any kind of evidence about what MU allegedly “still does”? It is six years later! Forests, there, displays standard Darryl Smith obsessions. And then there is a trollsock, Mikemikev is cool. Not blocked then, but there is a later hidden contribution. Inquiring minds want to know, so they ask. Ask and we receive. That hidden contribution:

Just google Mikemikev I am an ex-friend of this guy I used to think he was cool until I found out he was mentally ill, he also posts as MU, Eveshi and Atlantid (they are all the same person) and you get his dirty abuse that has been recorded across the net where he has caused trouble. He is a porn-addict. Not only does he impersonate people, but he’s been posting racism across the net for years. Education – 1989 – 1994 Mary Immaculate High School, Cardiff. 9 GCSE – 2 A*, 4 A, 3 B. 1994 – 1996 St. David’s 6th Form College, Cardiff. 3 – A-levels: Physics – B Mathematics – B Computer Studies – A 2001 – 2004 University of Sussex. This guy has no anthropology degree, he lied. Metapedia banned mikemikev for trolling. [[User:Mikemikev is cool|Mikemikev is cool]] ([[User talk:Mikemikev is cool|talk]]) 04:38, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Who posted this? On the face this would be Oliver, the obsession with Mikemikev would be Oliver, but we also know that Atlantid was Oliver, period. The use of a trollsock would be Darryl, at least that’s more likely. This confusion is routine when looking at the histories of articles where the Smiths were involved.

I am not following up  on all the crap on that cited page. There is a limit!

MU!! has been trolling numerous websites and newgroups, Usenet in particular, for over a decade. Do a Google search on names like “Ari Silverstein”, “Frank Camper”, or “wilburn” (preferably in combination with “Usenet”, e. g. [“Ari Silverstein” Usenet], [“Frank Camper” Usenet], [wilburn Usenet]) to see the full dimension of his trolling. As for Frank Camper: There is a real person with that name who is a former American soldier and mercenary.

Given what I’ve seen, I have no confidence in anything as primitive as what this trollsock alleges. There are impersonations, I’m sure of that. There is very likely a real person who is not Darryl, but as to socks of that person, given what I’ve personally seen, without clear evidence, none of the claims are reliable. The real person might be highly disruptive, or not. But someone is highly disruptive, and we are looking at his recent work.

Lomax aka MU!!, under his various names, often claims to be this person (or uses sockpuppets to create rumors about himself to that effect). However, he does the same with remote viewing researcher Courtney Brown so it’s most probably just bullshitting and attention seeking in both cases.

Allegedly “often” claimed, but not one example. Yes, sock puppets create rumors, indeed. But who creates the sockpuppets? The Smith claim is that I  have created what amounts to hundreds of socks to attack myself. So what about this one? What will later be claimed, quite likely, is that I created this sock to make the Smiths look bad. That’s how they work. They create massive confusion, and set up naive users to go for a simple explanation, So-and-So is BAD and can be accused of any bad behavior and it will seem likely. Even if actually examining the claim will show it is preposterous. So, for example, we have RatWiki users believing that I have accused them of being a Smith brother. Why? Well, trollsocks!

“Ari Silverstein” “Frank Camper” = Abd Lomax

Nothing there about Abd Lomax. But if I follow up, the reference is to a discussion of Courtney Brown (wikipedia article). This would be clear Darryl interest. Sure enough, in the edit history, Goblin Face is prominent, many edits October 2, 2014, one on October 5.

On the cited post, raggin claims to be MU, linking to a video. The video has nothing to do with MU in itself, other than his claim to have been there. The video itself is an example of what I’d call “mysteries.” There are mysteries! There are things we do not understand, but attempt to make sense out of, and those attempts can be quite wild. Not my topic here, but pseudoskeptics presume that they understand the mysteries, more or less they believe there are no mysteries. A genuine skeptic does not accept a claim without good evidence, but also does not reject, remains curious, or just passes it by. What we see from pseudoskeptics is intense rejection, almost religious, coupled with contempt.

Here’s an event I participated as “MU” with Dr. Andrew Chung of the famous, not so, Two Pound Diet (and an Ounce Of Common Sense).

Raggin also mentions “‘Ari Silverstein’ ‘Frank Camper'” It’s unclear what he means. One would need a program, but it’s believable that he was claiming these names as his. Not proven.

So why was all this posted as a response to my comments on the subreddit, WikiInAction? Simple: it’s what Darryl does.
